Once trees are debarked, they are run through the sawmill. This process creates sawdust. Because the lumber we are running is typically damp from just coming out of the woods, it is considered “green,” or undried.

This is the difference between shavings and sawdust. While sawdust is typically damp, shavings are usually a kiln-dried byproduct.

Our sawdust is ideal for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Inside barn use
  • Animal bedding
  • Commercial products
  • Landscaping
  • Gardening
  • Composting for municipal sewage
  • Raw material for wood pellet manufacturing
  • Some other project you might’ve dreamt up!

Available sawdust species include: Appalachian hardwood, yellow pine, and white pine.

We sell our sawdust by the bucket (1 bucket = 7 yards).
